Ryan Epps - Auction Describer / Public Auctioneer

Ryan turned his hobby into his occupation in 1998 when he joined the Stanley Gibbons Auction department and has joined the ranks of our auctioneers. He is active with his local Stamp Club which he joined over 20 years ago and has been a member of the Rhodesian Study Circle for many years. He can offer sound honest advice at what is sometimes a time of indecision. He understands and appreciates the time and effort in building a collection over many years. He would be happy to assist in the sale or placing a philatelic collection into auction.

Robert Smith - Auction Coordinator

Robert's interest in philately started when his family emigrated to South Africa when he was just six years old. During his school years he was involved with various junior societies, but it was only when he graduated from high school, and started a degree course that his interest in formal philately blossomed. During this time he became the youngest ever committee member of the Port Elizabeth Philatelic Society, and also ventured out into online stamp dealing - this proving so successful as to allow him to pay his way through three years of university. Upon his returned to the UK in early 2001 he joined Stanley Gibbons in Auctions & Acquisitions. He now assists clients in insurance valuations to make sure clients are correctly covered for any possible loss. His valuations service can also be used as part of a will to ensure that a collection is dealt with correctly when the time comes. He can provide a probate valuation to assist the effective management of a persons estate at a time which can be very stressful.
