Fraser’s Top 30 Selling Autographs Index Update – September 2009

“The boys are back in town”

The Autograph Index is somewhat male dominated this month, with two thirds of entries belonging to male personalities mainly from the world of TV, Film and music.

Audrey Hepburn, Carrie Fisher, Kate Beckinsale and Paris Hilton have been shunted from the Top 30 in favour of Michael Caine, Roger Moore, JFK and the crew of Apollo 11.

So who else has been on the move this month?

Most Significant movers

The title of ‘Most significant mover’ this month goes to the formidable Queen Victoria, who moves up six places to make the top 10.

As the longest reigning monarch in British history we can’t help wondering if her time in the Fraser’s Top 30 will be equally as long-lasting….

Also moving up four places this month is American film icon, Tony Curtis who was a new entry in the Fraser’s Top 30 back in March and has been on a steady rise ever since.

In true action movie style Angelina Jolie makes a rapid downshift, dropping six places to number 14.

Non movers this month include the late, great Michael Jackson, the godfather of American actors, Al Pacino, the blonde bombshell and Top 30 regular, Marilyn Monroe, pop legend Ringo Starr and comedy duo, Laurel and Hardy.

LAUREL, STAN & OLIVER HARDY

Re-Entries

Mirroring their successful re-entry into earth’s atmosphere some 40 years ago, Apollo 11 makes it back into the chart this month at number 25.

Although hardly the most significant or impressive piece of memorabilia in our stock, this book of CBS news coverage has a real sense of history about it and is most definitely a personal favourite.

By the 50th anniversary in 2019 Apollo signatures and memorabilia are sure to reach astronomical prices- now is the time to buy...

JFK also reappears this month at number 26.

Back in the chart at number 28 this month is Roger Moore. Love him or hate him, there’s no denying his success and with his starring role in the new Post Office adverts we are sure to be seeing more of him in the coming months. There have also been rumours that he may appear in Dr Who in December….

Last, but by no means least, Michael Caine just makes it back in the chart at number 29.

Best remembered for his roles in Zulu, Alfie, Get Carter and The Italian Job, Caine has starred in more than 100 films in his 60 year career. It has been reported in the Daily Express that Caine will retire from lead roles following the release of Harry Brown in November...

Will fans start snapping up signatures and send prices soaring? Only time will tell.
