So Good I Bought One Myself

If you're ever unlucky enough to get an invite to Chez Roose you'll be able to view my rapidly expanding memorabilia collection.

I have what I consider to be my 'investment' pieces. In addition there are the 'fun' pieces.

Similar to buying art - I buy what I like and if it happens to go up in value then so much the better...

And in practice not a single item I have purchased has decreased in value.

And with my bank now paying me next to Zero on my savings account I decided to buy a few more pieces of memorabilia, a few more autographs.

They now take pride of place in our hallway corridor.

Every visitor has commented on them, positively.

The latest edition is my favourite so far. Put simply I was amazed these were available at such a low price.

We had four in stock. I bought one. Two investors snapped up another two...

It leaves one available.

It will cost you £595, close to $1,000.

But for the price you get to own a wonderful piece of sporting history.

Mine is now framed and hanging on the wall at home. Even Mrs Roose appreciates it. I say that as she's not really a sports fan, but she does know who Muhammad Ali is. Most people do.

For just £595 I've purchased what I believe to be a superb piece of sporting history - a Sport magazine with Muhammad Ali on the cover.

The great man has then signed the magazine cover by the side of his image.

The price is pretty much irrelevant now. The money was doing nothing in my savings account. It was easy to convince my good lady that it'd be better spent on something we can enjoy on a daily basis... AND something that has every chance to appreciate in value over the coming years.

But like I say, the price is now irrelevant. There is an old adage in the antiques trade that goes something like this:

"Quality remains long after the price is forgotten"

On our wall at home we now have a signed ' Sport ' Magazine cover bearing the autograph of the greatest boxer ever.

Even if you have to justify a purchase like this there is no getting away from the facts...

Statisticians reckon 19% of Adult males in the US read sports magazines. That's over 25 million people a week interested in sporting magazines and the sportsmen featured in them.

Appearing on the cover of a Sports magazine is a highlight of any sportsman's career.

To me that makes a signed Sport magazine a no-brainer. After all the supply of these is infinitely lower than the demand.

And the good lady wife agreed.

My next plan is to convince her of the merits of a 1964 E-type Jaguar. Wish me luck.

Regards

Adrian Roose

P.S. We only have one of these Sports magazine covers left, you can see it on the following link Click here
