A New Digital Age for The World's First Postage Stamp

In October we partnered with VeVe on a limited edition release surrounding one of the most famous stamps known to collectors, The Penny Black. Selling out within minutes all 8468 editions found new homes with 150 purchasers receiving a limited edition physical Penny Black stamps as part of the launch.

Stanley Gibbons is committed to introducing Philately to a wider audience in the coming years and Veve offered an exceptional opportunity to do just that with collectors ranging from their 20's to their 90s! Not only are collectors now in possession of the digital and physical collectables, but they are also learning about the history of our wonderful hobby and hopefully hooked!

In another first for Stanley Gibbons, the 150 physical Penny Blacks were encapsulated in an SG slab which guarantees authenticity and protects the stamp. The response has been incredible so keep an eye out, as something similar may well be available to SG customers very soon...
