Court Fee: 1870-72 Telegraphs 8a brown first wmk, overprinted 'COURT FEES.' in red, horizontal strip of three, tied to small document piece by usual punch cancellations. Perf faults as often, still fresh and above average for this elusive provisional revenue, seldom seen in multiples. [N.B. India Court Fees were introduced in 1870 without dedicated revenue stamps available. A wide range of stamps were thus overprinted locally in Bombay and Calcutta on an 'ad hoc' basis until the arrival of the dedicated 'Court Fee' issue of 1872]
